Honestly, I am surprised to see such poor reviews of Habibi. It is no fancy fine diner, but it is definitely a casual and comfortable place for a good meal. They do not serve alcohol, but do allow you to bring your own. There are plenty of vegetarian options, which is such a relief! Food tastes great, especially the halloumi cheese and rice wrapped in wine leaves. The inner seating is quite spacious and comfortable. Service was good too. Note that they have a malfunctioning card machine, so will only accept cash. A good experience, and worth visiting for a no-fuss outing.

Horribly small restaurant with some awful seating. Menu was average. Ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich which was awful. Extremely expensive too and location isn’t great.
Poor service, slow.. We really wanted to like Habibi, we had heard good things and they catered for our vegetarian friends which was fantastic. We arrived to find the place entirely empty but being pragmatic we thought it would at least mean getting our food relatively quickly.It took a good 20 minutes before someone appeared to take our order even though the place was empty. A good proportion of the menu wasn’t available which made things difficult but we all eventually ordered something.The delay between starter arriving and main was an hour and a quarter but no-one was around to ask if there was a problem. Also not once in the rather long time we were there were we asked if we wanted any more drinks. We almost got to the point of thinking they had forgotten us and were discussing leaving when the food finally arrived.When the food arrived it was actually not too bad taste wise, didnt look very nice though if I am honest. Waiting so long for it we had all lost our patience and it spoiled the experience for us.Sorry we really wanted to like this restaurant but it wasn’t a good experience. If it was like that when empty I dread to think what it would be like with more than 1 table of 6 in there.Visited August 2014
