HOSTILE EXPERIENCE. I visited Lytham for a nice hot drink and maybe a cake to get into the festive spirit with my family. My little boy needed a toilet so we spotted this cafe and thought in haste lets go here. I walked in and asked the lady were the toilets where, and she said, are you buying tea or coffee, I said yes, so she let me use the toilet. I wish I had have turned round at that point, because this lady is in the wrong job. The hostility written all over her face was unbelievable. I came out to see my husband and his son waiting for us The man came over and he looked as agitated as his wife, I think closing time was looming, so rather than them thinking extra cash is better in the till, it was just a case of lets just get the order and get them out asap. I couldn’t wait to get out the atmosphere could be cut with a knife. My little one did ask for a Christmas song to be turned up, which the man did, I was surprised as this was the only happy moment to happen in a very FROSTY place. My little one jumped down from his chair and the man said, sit up and eat your ice cream, UNBELIEVABLE!!! I couldn’t wait to leave. Anyway, 17.50 later for 2 x hot chocolates, a crappy cappuccino, 2 tiffin cakes and one small ice cream we left this horrible place and will never ever go back. It did put me off going to Lytham again, but after reading other peoples reviews I will just steer clear of this poor customer service, over-priced establishment.

AMAZING!. Just come back from Fancy That in Lytham, and we had a great time! Lovely service and super food too! Owner was very welcoming- greeting us as soon as we went in and found us a table. I had my three year old granddaughter with me – the owner was absolutely lovely to her. I found it very inviting for kids. There were other children in there too, and when one of them had a little tantrum the owner gave her a cuddly dog to hug and she cheered up! The menu is excellent and wide ranging -all the food looked and tasted fresh and yummy. Followed by their amazing choice of homemade ice cream! Beautiful decor and pleasant surroundings, plus VERY clean toilets(this is so important)Prices are very reasonable in my opinion -last time we went to a cheaper cafe, but we didn’t have HALF as good a lunch or an experience. You get what you pay for in this life really, and we got a happy afternoon! Lovely big cups of white coffee- a gorgeous retro flowery glass for my daughter and a cute green safe style tumbler and straw for the little one, all served with a smile! PLUS lil granddaughter’s sandwich arrived already cut into child size pieces and she ate and enjoyed it very much! (and she’s fussy!) I can definitely recommend ‘Fancy That’!

Awful awful awful…. Popped in for a coffee and cake, we both ordered a latte and scone with jam and cream. The waiter said are you sure you want a latte they are quite strong I can get you a milky coffee instead ?!? We ordered lattes. Order came promptly, the lattes were small for the price and the scones were small and dry and very cheap!! Similar to a no frills brand from a supermarket. The jam was in a tiny packet like you get at a truck stop cafe and the cream was out of a can!!!!! Couldn’t believe they had given us squirty cream?!? The bill was 12 for 2 awful lattes and the worst scones I’ve ever had, seriously. Total rip off. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Avoid at all costs. the peple who run fancy that know nothing about good customer service.coffees are appalling and heaven help you if you complain. there are far better, friendlier places in lytham.

Fancy that indeed. 5.60 for a slice of lemon drizzle and a tiny teapot of tea? I queried the price and he pointed out I’d had two teabags, having requested strong tea. Further up the road Bertie’s was offering a tea or coffee and a scone with jam for 2.95. Can’t see anyone returning to Fancy That.

Had a very good ice cream and then fancied a double espresso what a rip off 2.65 but thought I would give it a try, what a rip off it turned out to be no creme around the edge tasedd horrible complained and asked for another was told there was nothing wrong with it so asked for a single exactly the same came to pay charged for the double complained and was told as that was what I asked for that’s what I should pay only had a fiver so had had to give him that commented on some rubbish that they where licences coffee makers for years and had no complaints, when I offered him for me to go and get one from Nero across the road to show him how it should be done. What a waste of time and money would advise anyone NEVER to go there for anything other than an ice cream!!!!!

Mrs M. It was Mothering Sunday, I had taken my mother and my 90 year old nana for a day out in Lytham, the sun was shining and we decided to stop and have dinner at Fancy That. What a big mistake. We went inside to order our meals and drinks, and was told to sit down, we will come to you. After 15 minutes, the male owner came and took our order. We wiped our own table and sat patiently for another 30 minutes for coffee and a scone. At this point my mother went inside to find out how long it would be, we were told ‘We are busy you know, we will get to you soon’. If we didn’t have a 90 year old with us, we would have walked out, like the 2 tables next to us. We will never ever be visiting this cafe again! They seemed to be more interested in filling up the dogs water bowls than serving, over paying customers. All in all, disgusting customer service and attitude. I would recommend you dont Fancy That!
