The Colonnade Hotel was tucked away in a quiet little street in Maida Vale and unless you specifically knew they have a dining room, I’m not sure you’d venture in for a meal. After winding our way around the cosy interior and down to the modern dining room, we took a seat in the corner and waited for our Christmas themed afternoon tea.There were tiny little desserts including carrot cake, macaroons and eclairs as well as unlimited tea. The only thing I was disappointed with were the scones which were rock solid! The dining room was completely empty apart from us so the service was great as they didn’t have anything else to do apart from cater to our every need! I don’t think I’d go back here as it wasn’t anything particularly special but the ambience was lovely and the food very yummy (except the scones). alexemilyblog.com
