FIRST TIME AND LAST TIME. Went yesterday for a joint fathers day and birthday and selected the indian buffet. A choice of 2 starters and 4 curries, nana bread and rice. The food was warm not hot, and the meat curries full of bone splinters. The restaurant had only 4 fully seated tables and was pretty empty, but took the front of house staff, 15 minutes to bring 2 beers, 2 cokes and a glass of wine. The lids where left off the food trays meaning it went from warm to cold. Not enough choice. We asked for the desert menu and was given a list of 12 deserts, and then told only 4 where available (all ice cream). The staff where surley and miserable, food was either curried meat on the bone, or a vegetarian option of lentil curry. Whilst we arrived at 6.30pm it said on the buffet advert on the restaurant window, that after 7pm, the price pp would increase from 5.00 pp to 7.00 because of extra dishes being introduced. At 7.15pm one extra starter was introduced which was tandoori chicken wings, that where burnt….this should of been a treat for us, after being used to chinese buffets, but never again, well certainly not at the Bay Leaf 🙁 Food bland, lack of choice on the buffet, warm or either cold, slow service with drinks, surley uninterested staff…

Excellent food and friendly service. I have been here several times and the food has always ben excellent. We have ordered for delivery also and the delivery was very fast. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!23 Oct, 2009GREAT FOOD: I would reccommend. I have been (and ordered) from here many times. It has always been excellent food. I would say one of the best curry houses in Wigan.. and believe me..I’ve tried them all! The staff have always been extremely friendly.
Don’t go there. HiWe visitied this restaurant this evening for the first and last time. The meals were poor and not as requested with the waiter. We did get a parial refund and went elsewhere for the meal.The place was busy so we thought it would be a good experience.
This restaurant is excellent! their food is the best in town
