Went to eat a hearty breakfast on Sunday morning. The place is very cutely decorated. We ordered a mix of things – sweet corn pancakes, fish cake and poached egg. While everything was tasty, the quantity was very less to fill up. Not worth the money.
Creative menu, great quality food and nice ambiance. I’ve been twice already and I liked everything I ordered both times. The banana cake is unmissable. The staff is also very friendly.
Walking into Jikoni you could be forgiven for wondering whether you’ve accidentally stumbled into someone’s cozy little living room. The place is warm and welcoming with small tables covered in variously coloured flowery tablecloths. The food is certainly something different and, turns out, also very enjoyable. Combinations of unusual flavours successfully work their way into most dishes. We tried the prawn toast and the pumpkin scotch eggs, all the small plates (too hard to choose just a couple), as well as a mutton sloppy Joe and a gingery mackerel dish. All very good and despite the mix of distinct spices and flavours nothing was overpowering or imbalanced. I would certainly go back!
