I come here for 1 Syrian delight; the fatteh bi samneh which is photographed here. Poached chickpeas over a bed of toasted crutons, mixed with a tahini/chickpea sauce and sealed off with an oozing splash of pine nuts in ghee. A Damascene favorite of mine.
Completely dissatisfied with the place. The only good thing about the food was that they served pickles and ‘decent’ tasting bread. The chicken was completely tasteless and under cooked. The side order of chips were received completely cold and we had to ask them to re-heat them. And then the service. The customer service was appalling! We were completely ignored, while a larger group of people were constantly attended to. I appreciate that they probably spent more, because there was more members in the group, however that doesn’t mean they should’ve ignored every other customer in the restaurant. Not to mention that i had the misfortune to have to constantly watch one of the waiters stick his shirt back into his trousers. The level of professionalism and quality of food that you would expect from a place like that, was completely non-existent. Would not recommend this place for a dining experience.
