Vegan food is great when limited to a salad, but venture into other courses and it quickly begins to falter, particularly when it comes to pudding. For those who stick to a vegan diet, this place is great, for those who want a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, don’t bother.

Love Deliciously Ella recipes so I was sure I would become a fan of this place. Everything is so nice, the vibes, venue, staff and crowd. The pastries are to die for, turmeric latte is freaking amazing ( they say they don’t add sugar but it’s definitely sweet). It’s a bit overpriced. And adding to this if you ask for the recipes of the food served the staff gives it to you! Such a fun of this place!

It is an absolute pleasure to have lunch at The Mae Deli! If you like trying many different dishes, I highly recommend the Mae bowl. All the different dishes are very interesting, tasty (explosion of flavours, really!) and, of course, healthy. I am a huge fan of Ella’s recipes, especially the sun dried tomato falafel, minted pea and avocado dip, as well as the smoked aubergine dip. In addition, the decoration of the Deli is very tasteful and cosy – It is literally my go-to place to have lunch around Bond Street or Marble Arch. Couldn’t recommend the Mae Deli enough! 🙂

The best healthy place in London even if you are in a rush or with time to relax… this place is amazing, cosy and the decoration it’s a must. The staff it’s not the most friendly but the food is absolutely delicious and very fresh

Nice selection of dishes but I think it’s over-hyped given it’s owner. There are so many amazing cafs in London now that I don’t think Mae’s deli is as good as. We visited last weekend and it was extremely hot and stuffy inside despite the weather outside being quite changeable. We sat downstairs but we were literally sweating and racing to finish our meal because it was so uncomfortable. To add to this I ordered a smoothie which arrived after our food (I thought it might arrive first or at least with the meal) and was warm! Thick, banana-chocolate warm smoothie let me tell you is not appetising. When I said it to the waitress she said she had ran out of ice so she put what she had left but that’s how it was. There was also meant to be a frozen banana in the recipe and as someone who makes these kind of smoothies at home daily, I know the banana definitely was not frozen when it was blended. I sent back the smoothie and asked if they could re-make it with ice and by the time we had finished our meal there was still no sign of the smoothie. We returned upstairs and said smoothie was sitting next to the coffee machine (the smoothie station is in the corner away from here – common sense would at least think to keep it there and not warm it more against the coffee machine!?) and we were told the member of staff they sent out for ice still had not returned. At this point I just looked for a refund which was given no problem but it had definitely tainted my experience. In terms of the food I had the kale salad with a chickpea curry, brown rice, curried cauliflower and lentils and sun-dried tomato falafels. All tasted great except for the falafel which I thought would be better served warm and their consistency was too soft and dense. As someone who lives in the Middle East and eats falafel multiple times per week they should be crispy/crunchy with a light, moist centre. Will I be returning again soon? I don’t think so, which is disappointing as a Deliciously Ella fan. thecinnamonfiend.com

We went to the Mae Deli twice. We liked it so much the first time, we came back for breakfast the following day. For lunch we had the mae bowls, with lots of delicious salads. Mine included the maple roasted sweet potatoes, which were my favourite!, but also the advocato dip – delicious – and the sundried tomato falafel. The latter was was a bit strong for me (which is basically the reason why my rating was 4.5 and not 5). Apart from that, everything else was wonderful: the lentil salad, the bean salad, and everything else i sampled from my boyfriend’s bowl ;)The breakfast bowls were also amazing. This time, we ate in. The room downstairs was lovely, and the staff was really nice. Great experience, with the added bonus of being healthy!! receitastolerantes.blogs.sapo.pt
