Hidden GemPerfect spot for afternoon tea, networking, or even a date. The scones with cream and jam were fantastic. Superb spread of desserts, biscuits, cakes, and all sorts of other goodies. The Wallace Collection is actually national museum in an historic town house filled with French 18th-century painting, furniture, etc. and the dining area is in the courtyard of the house. There is a glass roof, so London weather won’t take away from the experience.

Hidden oasis just stone throw away from chaos of oxford street. Ambience here is top notch with surrounding of great art and sky above under the conservatory. Service was impressive. Cocktails were great while food menu had enough variety to pick from. Price fix menu is great value.

After spending a couple of hours admiring the collection, I decided with my friend to relax in the courtyard indulging in an afternoon tea. We were lucky as there was plenty of space and got seated immediately. We treated ourselves to Cornish Cream Teas with an Earl Grey and a Lapsang Souchong. After a bit we were informed that the Lapsang wasn’t available. Having switched to an Assam the teas arrived after a good while, with no milk. We had to ask three times for it to be brought at the table and it took them 30 minutes to do so. The scones and sandwiches arrived in 20. The quality is high, but the service is a complete disaster and some of the waitresses are absolutely patronising. I enjoyed the taste of the tea and the food but I will avoid in the future if I want to have a good time.
