Somewhat of an institution at Selfridges from what I can gather. Came here on a Friday just as lunchtime was starting so we missed any large queues. Lots of comfy seats to choose from. Rather than a sandwich I went for their mac n cheese and added pastrami with a lemonade. It was SOOOOOOO good!!! I ordered the small rather than a large but that was more than enough. The pepper on the pastrami was v nice. Also got to try a bit of the salt beef – which was also really good. Would I go back? Hells yes! whatsarahate.blogspot.com

Staff service is a stand out feature – awesome waiter attending to people with flair and grace … And patience! Asked for the famous beef on rye and it was wonderful as it was hot, tender and moist! Considering this a big success!

Fantastic old school hot salt beef on rye that melts in your mouth, and can’t leave out the strong mustard and sweet gherkin! The Brass Rail delivers on flavours, textures and authenticity. Ambience is alright, feels like you’re eating in a nice food court. It’s not quite Katy’s of NYC but it’s close! Worth the meat and bread indulgence.

Don’t usually indulge in this type of food, however this was awesome. Salted beef literally melts in your mouth. Comparing it to Katzy’s in NYC, not quite there – a close second and seems to be best in London for this cuisine. Recommended.

Over the years this little corner was not yet discovered by a lot of travellers. This hidden gem serve the most outstanding salt beef sandwich that I ever had.The taste is really perfect, I love to order the classic sandwich on rye slice bread spread with mustard and loaded with salt beef. Will always go for their famous pickle. This is one of my favourite shops in london and I always make sure to grab a bite there in every trip.

Best salt beef sandwich ever! I have been coming here for over 15 years with the whole family and everyone is a fan! The food and quality stays consistent throughout. The place gets a bit crowded at lunch times. Perfect place to grab a casual sandwich.

Selfridges foodhall is the last respite for the shopping-weary and there’s still a corner of the Food Hall that you can grab a sandwich and sink into some comfy seats and rest your tired legs.Finding myself with some time to kill and in need of some lunch, I stopped by for a sandwich, no ordinary sandwich but a Salt beef sandwich. It’s a pretty generous portion which I opt to complement with a side of thinly sliced whole gherkin and it hits the spot exactly right. inher30s.com
