Nestled in the heart of a network of lanes and muses in Mayfair, sitting al fresco at the market brasserie feels more like being in France or Italy than London.Food was excellent. We had devilled squid to start, followed by crab linguine for her and asparagus risotto with seared scallops for me. It was really, really good- take a gander at the photo I’ve attached, but be prepared to be hit by wave of food envy. This place is not cheap though. 15 quid a main. Regardless, I’ll definitely be coming back.

Hidden away in the middle of Mayfair this restaurant produces wonderfully scrumptious and flavoursome food. I especially enjoyed their lobster which was succulent and in my opinion, far superior to that of burger and lobster. Fantastic mid-week choice.

We strolled into Market Brasserie after having spent a good 15 minutes trying to find a restaurant that would magnetically attract us inside from the myriad of quirky options dotted around Shepherds Market. Relatively free of large throngs of tourists and locals, this place had a cozy French brasserie atmosphere with an odd looking 20 lobster drawn on the blackboard outside. When a place serves Eggs Benedict for dinner, it has my vote for running for President. Our decision was simple, Eggs for me and Lobster for him. The service was quick, especially given that we were expecting them to take a while with the Lobster. My Eggs were brilliant, the Hollandaise sauce was surprisingly different; one usually just expects Eggs Benedict to taste the same everywhere but this one definitely left an impression. The Lobster was a lovely experience as well, I just got to sample little bits of it. However, the speed with which it was broken, unhinged and devoured by my company was proof enough that it was all worth it. As the evening proceeded, a group of street musicians found their way outside the doors of the restaurant and played some vibrant old Italian tunes for all our pleasure; lending an ever so delightful a nuance of quaint European atmosphere in the middle of London town. In a nutshell: This is a perfect mid-week dinner spot for an overworked soul

This is a good lunch spot in the centre of town. The service can be a bit slow and they are often overcrowded, failing to ‘move people out’ quickly enough. the salads are good and their poached eggs aren’t bad. You would think this place does incredible coffee but strangely I have found their lattes to be quite ‘sickly’, event when using skim milk…hmmm
