There are always a few meals which are more of experiences that you never forget. My unplanned meal at Leather Bottle was one such experience and it would be safe to say that it was the best English meal I’ve had. It looks like any other ordinary pub located in the middle of the always secluded Kingston Road, but I can assure you that this place is going to give you that warm fuzzy feeling inside. With a friendly staff and sparsely populated with local families and old ‘uncles’ by the fireplace, it was no surprise that we spent more than an hour at lunch on a busy day. I will vouch for this – a Breakfast Baguette for lunch is extremely appropriate, it makes for a perfectly filling lunch and for egg lovers like myself this would be the most obvious choice. I ended the meal with a warm apple pie and it left me smiling the rest of the day. I still can’t put my finger on it, but there is just something special about Leather Bottle, maybe it is how homely and comfortable the place makes one feel.
