Read my review! Like it too!!!Impromptu lunch with work colleagues, actually… Hold on …. Yes …. With the below reviewer J kneen .I was with 8 total diners, 6 of them chose the fish and chips classic…. Very original… Like it can’t be found anywhere else in london… I went with the turkey pie. When everybody else was served their classic prehistoric choice, i clocked 12 minutes before my pie got to me. Thankfully the pie was very good, it was so good i had to use loads of pepper and salt to flavour it to my liking. Its came with a mash and some greenery, the pie definitely looked the part, like a nearly inflated hot air balloon sitting on my plate. Once i pierced the top of the pie to dig in, i found a puddle of creamy bacon sauce effectively. I genuinely thought the pastry would be the entire shape of the bowl. It wasn’t.Food was paid for so it was absolutely epic!

Went here with the company on a whim, and it was pretty good.Entering the doorway into the spacious, light and bright dining room, we were greeted by the waiter who quickly arranged the tables to accommodate us.The drinks were ordered, from a rather extensive selection of lagers and ale, including Camden Hells lager on draught – I really like Camden Hells. After a few sips of the afternoon tipple, the waiter approached to take to the food order. He was a bit relaxed, which didn’t really suit the feel of the place, but didn’t care.Of the food orders, everyone apart from two ordered the fish and chips, because when another table’s fish and chips came past we were all gawping at it wonderment. It looked great, and when it arrived, it did not disappoint. The batter had a good crisp exterior with fluffy yummy fish on the inside. The skin on chips were cooked well and tasted good. Unfortunately there were garden peas on the plate, not mushy… 🙁 The oven roasted tomato wasn’t good as it was cold and literally just tasted of olive oil. Apart from that, it was great. No coffees or desserts…. maybe next time.

Tucked away from the grounds, a great find near Westminster for a classic pub lunch of Fish & Chips. The tables outside allow you to sit outside on the few hot days a year that England sees whilst still allowing for shelter/shade if need be. The interior is large and cool and can cater for a decent crowd with an extensive bar for merry making. The fish was a little bit overcooked when we came for lunch, but the chips were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the accompanying tartare sauce very zingy and fresh. The staff were very helpful in checking everything was ok and bringing out additional pots of condiments and seasonings as required.I wouldnt hesitate to return and linger for longer with a cold bottle of wine during the summer months, or settle in inside during winter! inher30s.com
