Welcome to Carpathian Speciality, a speciality food cafe that makes and sells food mainly from Hungary and its neighbour countries. Originally streetfoods, so you can take it away or you can sit down and enjoy it in our humble, cosy shop. What we sell: * Chimney cakes: A grilled spiral doughnut from Transylvania. Ideal travel snack, unwrap it and nibble it while you enjoy the walk at the seafront. * Langos: The hungarian fried flatbread. Imagine a hot sandwich, where even the bread is made to order. Traditional and localised flavours available. (the highwayman is the bestseller) Vegan options available. * Pancakes: Well known flat european pancakes in both sweet and savoury options. * Milkshakes and Smoothies A great nutritious drink. The cakes here are different to anything around the area, which is really great. They are tasty and make a nice treat while out and about. We took two away to bring to a friend’s house and they were a big hit with their kids.
OMG what a hidden little gem of a Cafè. The cuisine is Hungarian and I would highly recommend a visit. Just get off the metro at Whitley Bay and walk down toward the high street, opposite Lloyds bank. Will definitely be making a return trip.
