As if this ethos was not attractive enough, the vast array of wonderful foodstuffs adorning every available space will soon have your mouth watering. The quality of the produce is obvious - from the shining gleam bouncing off plump olives and the rich smell coming from perfectly matured cheeses, to the sound of crusty bread being wrapped in rustic paper.Whether you are on a rushed lunch break or simply enjoying a languorous browse, there's plenty to feast your eyes upon at La Scala. There are some delicious snacks and more filling main meals to be had, all available to take away. If you are heading back to the office, add a little indulgence to your desk-dining with an open sandwich of poached salmon with fresh salad and a balsamic and lemon dressing. Alternatively, you may enjoy a tapenade, goat's cheese and sun-blushed tomato panini, or perhaps a sandwich filled with beef in a spicy tomato sauce. The salads are healthy yet hearty, including combinations such as avocado with mozzarella, baby tomatoes and mange tout, all laced with La Scala's house dressing. Of the hot dishes, the smoked bacon and Cheddar pasta bake is a winner, as is the pesto pasta with salami, mozzarella, black olives and tomatoes. If a snack is all you are after, there is a fabulous range of antipasto on offer, including cold cuts of meat, peppers filled with feta, olives in various marinades, stuffed vine leaves and of course a selection of fresh bread. If you want to spread some La Scala joy among your friends, the hampers make lovely gifts, and are also perfect for posh picnics. Your only problem will be picking a selection of delicious delicacies, as everything from La Scala is packed with flavour and unbelievably tasty.
