Could be the best in the area.. We visited the Waterfront as a family of four adults. Upon arriving you are invited into the bar area of the hotel that the restaurant is in, don’t let this put you off , as there is a very welcoming atmosphere, relaxing seats and it has some nice views over the bay. Whilst in there they bring the menu and take your order for your starters and main course. When the starter is ready they come and escort you to your table. The only problem I have found with this practice is that they even do it when the restaurant is empty, this happened on our first visit, we went from the bar area that had a nice ambiance to an empty restaurant, we did notice as other people, who’s starters were now ready, filtered into the restaurant from the bar, that the ambiance took a while to re-establish itself. I can understand putting people in the bar when it’s busy, but not when it’s empty. Anyway that’s a minor point. The restaurant is nice, clean and very modern looking, but it isn’t packed full of tables and chairs, making it feel nice and roomey. Anyway, onto the main bit…..the food, well I had a steak that was just…well….fantastic, it was perfectly cooked, I loved it, but my wife had a cheese and broccoli bake, that was nice but was more like a cheese and broccoli soup. The rest of the food was very good, especially the seafood we had, the taste and presentation of the food and the great portion sizes made it worth every penny we spent. In all the food is great, the service is good and the staff were very polite and helpful. When we left the The Waterfront we all commented what a good evening it was, that must be a good sign, with a few more tweaks this restaurant could be the best in the area.
