Had a great feed here. We were a party of nine and they accommodated us well. The food didn’t take too long and came together. It was very nice, we all enjoyed our meals, but the pistachio lassi takes the cake as the most memorable part of the meal. Unfortunately, the room was quite cold and didn’t improve much after asking the staff. However, the staff was friendly and treated us well. If you haven’t gone, it’s a worthwhile visit to develop your palate for Batli.
I had not had a real Birmingham balti for a long time and so we booked a table at this restaurant, based on the excellent reviews for food it had received. It was meant to be a birthday treat. I rang in advance and checked they could accommodate children as we would be a party of 8, with myself, my husband, four of the next generation and two grandchildren. ‘No problem,’ we were told. We booked for 7 pm and made sure during the day that the children would not start feeling hungry until about 7.30 at the earliest. When we arrived, no table was ready. Indeed, we waited until 7.25 before they were able to seat us. Popudums arrived, but, bizarrely, only 7 for 8 of us, and we ordered promptly. Over an hour and a half later, so two hours after our actual arrival, we had received no food. Each time we enquired we were told ’10 more minutes.’ Finally, when we asked and still had 10 minutes to wait, we left, hungry and fed up. We had two very hungry children with us who were getting restless, though they had been really well behaved. We were all hungry and extremely disappointed. Several other tables were complaining about slow service and yet others, who arrived well after us, had their meals in less than 20 minutes. It is a 80 mile round trip for us to get to Ladypool Road and we had to take two cars to accommodate eight of us. All that way and back for absolutely nothing. Our evening, my family meal birthday treat, was completely ruined.

Friendly welcome by staff, nice and busy when we got here – food was fresh an very tasty – a bit on the warm/ spicy side but not a complaint just worth asking for it mild if you are so inclined – would definitely come again
Fantastic value at less than 15 for three courses. Service was good and food was decent. Liked that they accomodated my request for a paneer and chilli naan. Restaurant has a modern vibe.
