A little Pub history The inn is named after Harsthead Pike, the monument situated at the beacon point of the area. It is possible to see the counties of Cheshire Lancashire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire from the Pike. There has been a building on the hill for centuries. The present tower built in 1863, is the third on the site, as previous towers have collapsed. On the edge of the Peak District, this impressive inn at Mossley offers great walking and splendid views. Originally a farmhouse built in the early 1800s (recently restored) it is named after the Hartshead Pike monument.
