The service is below any expectation, No chitchats or common politeness, no please or thank you.We were made to feel very unwelcome, it is just a shame Marstons chose arrogant manager that fell within the other 1%. Empty bar and not friendly service, the food is reasonably priced but no one eat there! Do not ask why!Just a short walk to the Glass House Pub where a cheerful barmaid meets you and you enjoy a cold beer. Once in the Royal Oak and the barman knows my preference and served with a smile

Only downside was that it was an animal friendly environment (which I don’t have any issue with) but, the dogs started barking at each other and making a loud commotion. And it was not pleasant to have a chat at that moment. Maybe, they could manage it a bit better.
