Perfectly average restaurant. I had heard rave reviews from colleagues about this place, so the bar was set pretty high. Nice food, no stand out dishes. Had the Bento Box, which was a little on the small side. Flavours OK, it was a very average meal. Would I go there again? Probably, but it wasn’t earth shattering for me. 7/10 for the overall experience.
Terrible Service, Terrible Food!. Me and my husband went there for my birthday meal last night. We walked in to find a very rude waiter, who spoke to us in a very abrupt manner. We were sat down in the bar area, given a food menu, no drinks menu, after 10 minutes my husband located a drinks menu, then after another 10 minutes after us asking if we could order a drink we got one. We opted for Teppanyaki menu, having eaten at the Chester and Manchester Teppanyaki I thought we would have a good dining experience, I couldnt’ be more wrong! The starter was average. I ordered Teryaki Chicken for my main that was full of fat and didn’t taste right, so I left it. When I complained to the waiter he told me they used chicken leg as it was more moist!!! I stated I had this dish in other Teppanyki’s and the breast was used and they should state it is the leg on the menu or when ordering. At 17.50 for a main course, it seems to me like they are looking at cheaper alternatives! Very disappointed.
Had a brilliant Teppanyaki main course. First class service, entertaining chef and brilliant food. You must try it!!
Superb service , excellent food, the scallops were cooked as well as I have ever eaten. We were treated like kings and the comedic chefs were excellent. Will definitely visti again.
I have to say moonsha is probably our new favourite restaurant In Derby. Food was amazing, staff were very friendly. Top place for a night out.
BRILLIANT. Hi, Had dinner here last sunday and the tepanyaki was fabulous. The chefs were so friendly and entertaining while cooking. The service was awesome and the food tasted really good. Cannot recommend this place enough. One of the best restaruants in Derby. We spent about 60 pounds for 2, including lots of beer. 🙂
WORST meal of my life. I have eaten in restaurants all over the world, quite literally everywhere – and yet i have never had an experience quite like moonsha. not only was the food AWFUL, the service was worse. apparently at moonsha, food is unable to be kept warm whilst transported twenty feet, astonishing isnt it. to make matters much worse, my entire party felt very unwell after eating at MOONSHA. i cannot say for certain whether the food at moonsha made us sick, but none of us had eaten elsewhere that day! I strongly urge anyone considering this venue to think again. Or if you dare venture in, empty your schedule the next morning and prepare yourself for the worst dining experience you’ll ever have. If only i had been warned before spending 100 pound on this awful evening.
