A nice cuppa, but a lacklustre selection of food. A limited selection of sandwiches accompanies a couple of ‘main’ meals – a tired, dry looking lasagna that’s probably been on the heat tray for hours, for example.This place would get a lower score were it not for the fish, which is really great. I can’t put my finger on it, but whoever came up with the recipe for the batter has nailed it. My recommendation for this place, therefore, would definitely only ever be fish and chips with a cup of tea.
I quite like the cafe in BHS, i find the staff so friendly and the food isn’t at all bad! Plus they serve proper meals as well which is lovely if you get hungry whilst shopping.The atmosphere is light and both the staff and other customers are friendly, it can get quite busy sometimes and you can be left without a table so id avoid during the peak hours, especially as people have usually been shopping and so they aren’t in any rush to leave.I had a pot of tea with a slice of cake, both of which were lovely, and a big thank you for the lady who served us as i was taking forever to choose what cake id like! but still she smiled and helped recommend, again another place where the staff and service really do make the cafe.
