I found this place online whilst searching for halal crispy duck. I booked a table for myself and my friends for an iftar meal. Im glad I did because at the very least, I have found a decent halal Chinese place with great service. The food is much the same as any local Chinese place, thats probably what I like about it the most. Having been to a few places for iftar and asking for dates to open my fast and being disappointed, this place surprised me by giving us some dates to open our fast without us asking. We had a mixture of finger foods of which the salt and pepper squid was really good. Duck pancakes were great. House special fried rice with their black bean sauce was reassuringly good. Overall its not fine dining cuisine, its better, its comfortable local Chinese food with halal ingredients. Awesome!
I order takeaways from this restaurant quiet often . I love the taste of some of their dishes which is very unique like black bean sauce style, ginger spring onion style. Only things are negative that their service is not good as expected, especially on the weekend.
We’ve been here a few times and the foods always been tasty. It’s hmc halal so we were drawn to it. I took my toddler there on this occasion and got her the chicken and sweetcorn soup. To my horror she took out a sharp piece of plastic out of her mouth. The waitress didn’t really say much to alleviate our distress. She said ‘it’s probably from the sweetcorn packaging. Not sure what kind of sweetcorn they buy but this plastic could’ve cause a lot of damage and pain to my daughter, and such recklessness is unacceptable and inexcusable. That along with the hair we found in the prawn crackers just put us off big time. Such a shame because we thought the food was nice.
I am a great fan of traditional Chinese food. Same time i need to ensure that it’s Halal. I found this is the only HMC APPROVED Chinese restaurants that deliver great quality food. I highly recommend others to this lovely restaurant.
This is a halal chinese restaurant located in Norbury. The service was slow from the moment we walked in and the food was just about edible. The hot and sour soup tasted like soy sauce and nobody ate it. The manchurian chicken tasted like sweet and sour chicken although it should be a spicy dish. The thai fried rice was really sticky and tasted too fishy and the noodles and the aromatic lamb with pancakes were the only dishes that was ok but still just average. I wouldnt go back as the food didnt have enough flavour and it never tasted authentic.
