What an absolutely gorgeous and intimate place to hang out with friends. This is a must visit for tourists.. You’ll find little secrets all over and it’s often frequented by students of Oxford University. Ps: Pims and lemonade all the way! thatgirlwhotravels.com
We had to wait for a while before we could find a place! Can’t find a place, tough luck don’t expect too much help from the manager, they are just swamped with orders but not enough staff! The bangers and mash was yum. A great place for good food and long conversation.
I had the opportunity to visit this place on a recent visit to Oxford. It is amazing to think that people like Tolkien and C.S. Lewis used to come here and they even have a plaque commemorating them and the inklings. There is nothing special about the service- it is your typical pub service whereby you order at the bar and it is delivered to your table. I ordered the lamb shank pie which nice but nothing to write home about and my friend had the fish and chips.I would recommend dropping in if you’re visiting Oxford and a big fan of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. sarahtrad.com
