If we didn’t have our friend to guide us, it would’ve been quite difficult for us to find this place. It’s tucked away in some twisting alleyways, and I was surprised to find such a large pub when we got there. We ordered a Buttermilk Chicken Burger, a Dirty Burger and a plate of Fish and Chips. The food was delicious and definitely worth the price I think. My Dirty Burger certainly lived up to its name, it was very messy to eat, but very delicious. Would love to be back in the future, definitely a good bar to chill with your friends.
This place like a century old and is hidden in the streets of Oxford! This place is brilliant and has the best fish and chips to offer with the some great freshly brewed beer. Likes of Bill Clinton have visited this place, it is highly recommended!
This was part of our bar crawl this evening and is definitely a must visit if you’re visiting Oxford. Everyone is super friendly, washrooms are clean(which is a big plus), drinks are well priced and the food we ordered was really lovely. Turf tavern is just one of the places you need to know and you need to go to when you are in Oxford or visiting Oxford. A beautiful pub with a long legacy of customers, pretty much anyone who’s ever been anyone and has studied at Oxford, this is the place Bill Clinton used to come to ‘inhale’. Add to it some great ales and beer, n it adds up to a perfect Oxford pub experience.
Great place to have a pint or three! Nice food (had the fish n chips, with a great tartare!).Lot’s of people and a very jolly place, with several interior rooms and outside spaces.
