Absolutely terrible service. Ratty waitresses and very disorganised service. I am quite mild mannered and after a whole raft of issues from the moment we took a seat, I finally lost my rag and stormed out about 40 minutes later when they brought our food and they still got it wrong. No apologies or anything. Just bushels of attitude and confusion. Exceedingly unprofessional, BAD service and an absolute waste of time. Enter cafe royal at your own peril.
What I really loved about this place was the accessibility of the owner, the friendliness of, not only the staff but the customers (in the main) who are always willing to trade pleasantries with me. The coffee, although excellent, is 25p cheaper than the four major chains within site of the front door.Their cooked breakfast, when my wife allows me to have one, is always excellent and the lunch counter is all produced in house.I live in West Finchley and it is a 16 minute walk for me, but it’s a home from home and I am often there writing another chapter of my book. They are on Wi-Fi so I can email the chapters to my printer in case I lose my computer!
