I ate at Dock Kitchen quite some time ago, and, the menu has changed completely since then. Quite a trip from the centre of the city, the food and service are well worth it. The cuisine can be best described as International….my meal was a mixture of Italy, Morocco and France….The restaurant itself is very beautiful and spacious, perched on a small hill overlooking a canal..big glass windows to one side admitting lots of natural light…
Dock kitchen is a refreshing restaurant. It’s cool without trying too hard and the menu is simple, focused on a few choice ingredients, but still innovative. Away from all the buzz and hype of more central locations, it serves expertly made Mediterranean dishes in a warm, tranquil atmosphere overlooking a canal. The menu is constantly updated based on seasonal availability of ingredients, so no risk of getting bored by going back too often!
Not good enough anymore. I have been to this restaurant many times in the last few years. The first time I thought I had found some kind of food heaven. But I guess every place has its day. Over the last four times I have been I have had a nagging feeling that it’s really not as good as it should be. I went tonight with my whole family, promising them a great meal and felt really let down. It just is not as good as it should be. So it is with a heavy heart that I say I will not go there again. Sad.
LovelyLovelyLovely. Food. Dizzy service, friendly and knowledgable though.07 Jul, 2011LOVEITLOVEIT. This food is brilliant, every mouthful an EXPLOSION! we had chat masala (a kind of indian salad the waitress said) simple and lovely with a complex accomplished spice mix. Followed by slow cooked mixican pork, hot and tasty with lots of smoked chilies. Then the most delicios almpnd tart.
What an hidden gem! The location is great as well as the space! Friendly staff, Marko always makes me feel at home. Great thougthul food! Heavily French wine list but with good selection of Italy.
D.S.A. Having dinned at at the Dock Kitchen & being within the trade for 20 years..I was in a gentle manner let down!!!What i enjoyed, was my well selected wine. The server had no knowledge of the daily menu & yes we were neglected so when the service charge is included on the bill I feel it is somewhat a chick, The extraction seemed to be clogged & the grills smoke made it hard to find my partner. However, I must admit my Veal chop was cooked right! Overall I did find the whole meal to be stodgy, from starter, to main, including the dessert which was like sand on my pallet. Every dish had a minimum of the main ingredient & a substantial amount of starch to choke up on…The Chef was off duty, but what came to my attention when i took a brake out on the veranda, was the already prepared portioned salad greens for the service… uncovered, in a windy condition on top of vegetable pockets, straight from the market & yes they are meant to be kept in the cold room prepped just before service so for us to enjoy & not to be served along with a whisk of dust or such as bacteria in the air! For the sum of 128.25.I have definitely dinned better than this
