I wouldnt even call it proper Indian food. The chicken biryani had huge chunks of boneless boiled chicken. The rice wasnt upto the mark. The curry that they serve with the Biryani is a box of oil and few veggies (AVOID that). Giving three stars because the dal was edible and certainly not bad. Could improve a lot.
We have been going to Palki for as long as ten years now as they are a neighbourhood curry house. My husband and I have always enjoyed going there but we wont be going there any more. Went there last night and it was noticeable that they treated regulars like us who are with disdain. We ordered two starters, two mains and a side as well as pappodums. For some reason, they forgot to bring the pappodums. When I reminded them, one of the waiters said that the mains are on their way and its best not to spoil our appetite. Found it a strange recommendation but I took him at his word. Food didnt arrive for another 15 minutes. Lots of takeaway food were coming out of the kitchen and when our mains finally arrived, the portions were smaller than usual and the vegetable curry was watery and there were sediments in them. I spit out three small hard sediments from the curry. Really disappointed by the service and the quality of the food. Weve noticed the downturn in their quality in our last few visits and last night was the nadir. Wont be stepping foot in there ever again. Really disappointed at this decline in their standards.

Very bad Indian food! Ordered saag Alu, chana Masala and rice.The curries had a bed of oil on top and were made in stale oil. There was no sense of flavour apart from the bad oil. Very disappointing and far from taste, not at all worth the price and not at all true to real Indian food.
I’m surprised by the rating of this place here to be honest. On the craving of some indian food I ordered here through deliveroo. Tried the aloo dum gravy, chicken tikka, onion rings among many of their starters. My favourite here though is the biryani. It’s not the typical biryani you get in india or elsewhere. It has a nice aroma and very gentle taste which made me love this place. I do hope more people try this place and it gets a more deserved rating.
