Modern Pub. It is a truly awful experience in this day and age. It can’t survive with the Chimes across the road and the Penny Black. These two know what running a pub is all about and what people want and expect. I think it will be something else in twelve months time. I see through management eyes.01 Feb, 201452mayflower. Yes your right, a truly awful pub don’t know how it survives, it won’t survive for much longer I can guarantee. Partly because the Penny Black is more friendly and professional and partly the staff attitude. The door staff do more harm than good, when the pub is half empty they are turning people away, arrogant Muppets if I was the manager I wouldn’t be paying those clowns, have you walked past and seen them? There’s more of them than there is customers. In a dying town centre, this dying pub industry needs a good shake up, this is not a good example.

A thriving gay bar in the middle of Northwich, full of friendly locals and bar staff ;)The bar itself is a bit of a dive, could do with a spruce up but the atmosphere is lively, especially on a Saturday night when your having to dodge flying pint glasses and chat up attempts from the older gents.The staff are usually pretty reliable, maybe a bit scruffy looking and there never in matching uniform which all other barracuda places seem to require their staff to be in.Overall I find it a good place to start or end a night, but anything over an hour in there will send you west. The music is crap and too loud to hear yourself think and its way to expensive compared to spoons across the road (Penny Black).
What a horrid placev. What an awful pub, truly horrid and obnoxious staff. Not only were they drinking bottles of beer behind the bar but there general attitude was terrible. It’s the sort of place that even a local tramp (MC Roge) would turn his nose up at. There was a horrible aroma about the place, sort of like rotting rubbish, such as you would smell around the Merseyside area. Avoid at all costs.
The food there is very good but people under 14 have to sit outside
