One of the most extravagant and ambient restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to dine in; Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill offers a mouth-watering menu, complimented by the gorgeous interior…this restaurant is perfect for date night, anniversary dinners and birthday celebrations in my opinion! Be sure to catch a drink before or after your meal too, they have lovely cocktails!Food: 5/5Ambience: 5/5Affordability: ~20 for mains
Watch out for overcharging on the bill!!!!!!We had a celebration dinner on Saturday night at BBB Notting Hill. The bill came with 12.5% service charge which is usual around London. But when ringing the bill through the card terminal the waitress asked if we would like to add a gratuity. Some of my guests almost paid service a second time on their meals. I had not seen the bill for drinks, and did mistakenly pay an additional 10% on top of the 12.5%. It is a very unusual practice that I have not seen elsewhere in London. Additional tips are usually offered in cash if service is excellent. I spoke with management who said that it is their policy to allow guests the opportunity to pay additional service if they like – it is the customer’s choice. Unsuspecting customers will get caught out by this. This is boldly overcharging whichever way you look at it. And BBB are unapologetic about it.
The place is amazing , the interior design are amazing the first impression is absolutely perfect .But the service unfortunately is really average they bring to us first the entrance and then the drinks .The Music was to loud in the restaurant and the price for the meal was expensive compare to other restaurant and about what they offer.The food is fine but not excellent .If I will come back will be just for the location and drink.
Really good restaurant!! The location is amazing, elegant and classy. The food is really good too. We went there for my birthday and we were just in front of the fire (even if it was september). It was a very special dinner. I recommend it for sure!
One of my favorite restaurant in london! this location is just stunning!! food is great and vast options of wines! quite expensive have to say but it is worth it. definitely recommend it for a romantic dinner 🙂
BBB it used called to be, about 15years ago, when I happened to be the man in charge, 500 covers over the weekend would be the norm, none of us would waker up and get there for less that that!!! Today, things have change , it’s still Beach Blanket Babylon, food still ok, but the crew is missing!!! Maybe some of you will remember the years I am talking about, when Notting Hill gate carnival was a institution and sleeping was only aload twice a month, 1 time before pay day and I time after pay day!!! I will be back there on Thursday night and who knows, I might find someone I know in the Chapel where we got married for the second time with my Dear Wife!!!
