Truly vegan place with all kinds of vegan milks and many delicious stuff. I came here especially to try the famous golden latte (aka turmeric latte), but didn’t find it interesting. My frienf ordered I guess blueberry cake and it was gorgeous and yummmy. The only ‘but’ that I have -I was really trying to order espresso while they wanted to sell me ‘expresso’ 😉
With a rise in popularity for vegan and vegetarian friendly foods, Nama stands as the crown jewel in London among the plant based culinary scene. The restaurant itself looks like it is as earthy as its menu boasts. With raw food options, the restaurant looks as if it sprouted out of the ground with its wood tones and leafy decorations. Those who enter Nama know what their menu holds before ever laying eyes on one. The staff at Nama is just as friendly as the earthy vibes coming from the storefront. The staff was quick to seat me at a table and give me a menu where I could browse their healthy and delicious options.Namas main dishes feature healthy options for those who want gluten free meals and raw diets. Their food is specifically labeled raw artisan foods. One of the more interesting items on their menu that I just had to try was their raw pizza. The raw pizza had a delicious crunchy crust covered in tomato sauce and ricotta and topped with a handful of fresh toppings including black olives, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, caramelized onions, and almond ‘parmesan’. That combination of ingredients made a perfect blend and was very filling. I then followed with the vegetable skewers with BBQ sauce on a bed of freshly made slaw that was such a delight to eat. Finished with their famous tangy Blueberry Cheesecake with a crust made of brazil nuts and sweet coconut.Namas earthy style was present in both their food and restaurant design while their friendly staff makes you feel at home. Dining at Nama is certainly an unforgettable experience.
Having seen more than enough lovely food photos from Nama Artisan, I decided to pop in while I was in the vicinity. So on a beautiful sunny day, after some shopping at Portobello Market, I navigated to this bright and placid cafe. Now…I am not a vegan but this is a fantastic experience for anyone who loves their pudding. I had a Matcha Latte and the notoriously famous Blueberry Cheesecake. I am not a big fan of Matcha, but it was quite good with the milk I chose….Hazelnut.I tried hard not to build up expectations about the Blueberry Cheesecake, but after I forked off the first bite……it was a little portion of heaven. I finally experienced what Rachel and Chandler do while having the stolen batches of cheesecake on ‘Friends’. It was nutty, crumbly, not too sweet and soft (I gotta learn how to make cashew cheese!).They have some products available on sale (including the rose petal topping from the blueberry cheesecake). The manager indulged me in a good chat about how I could use some of the ingredients without any annoying passive-aggressive sales tone.Tables are a little too close for my preference. Staff is warm and chatty…willing to guide you through the menu. I would go here for a coffee and dessert…maybe not a meal. Great place to meet a friend one-on-one. currycular.wordpress.com
Exceeded expectations, was worth the build up! Their raw artisan food is something really special. Dishes are so creative, full of flavour and nutrients, fresh, use only healthy ingredients and are presented beautifully. Ambiance is light and cosy, service is friendly and quick. You just cannot go wrong here. Highly recommend for a special raw vegan meal, anytime of day.
Kills it. Best health food at the finest levels I’ve had in London. Everything was amazing and each bite lite up the taste buds. Will be back many times over – they got it so right.
This was our first vegan experience with Nama. We read good reviews about it with my wife and decided to try it since it’s in our neighbourhood. Coffee was definitely a plus with the almond milk cappuccino. However the service was very rude. The waiter (an arrogant woman with a ring in her nose) didn’t even know properly the menu or could explain how the dish looks like. And when we asked about some info, she told us that we can go to Raoul restaurant in the front if we couldn’t find what we like!!! This is really poor commercial and rude service. We will never go back to this place and I don’t think there is anything amazing about this place. Portions are very small and it’s over priced for what it is..,,
