Hidden away in the basement in the heart of Notting Hill, you’ll feel the warmth of this place as soon as you come down the stairs. Has a very tropical feel to it, music is good and the staff very forthcoming and nice. Great hangout with yummy cocktails.
After a disappointing trip to the Portobello Star, we went over to Trailer Happiness at 2 minutes past midnight. We knew it closed at 1 so figured this wouldnt be too late. We were wrong. They stop letting people in at midnight apparently. But we turned on the charm and they let us in anyway. We barely had time to have one drink though before we were being turfed out half an hour later. I dont know where people go to party on a Friday night but it certainly isnt here! It was big but by no means full. We had many empty seats to choose from. The place really reminded me of Lounge Bohemia in Shoreditch with a sort of groovy 70s look and it felt quite funky and like it should have been busier. My friend got the Trailer Colada which was served in a coconut which made us happy and I got a very normal-looking Golen Age which was infinitely better than the last two cocktails Id had at the Star. I think my friends colada was actually pretty good, I just really dont like coconut and it had both coconut syrup and coconut tequila in it. Mine had rum, chartreuse, crme de banana and homemade burnt butter syrup and it was a fun drink though not especially memorable. At 12:30 we finished our drinks and I went to go to the loo before making my way all the way back East. When I tried to, the bouncer tried to direct me out of the bar instead, telling me the toilets were closed. He relented when I said very firmly that I had an hours bus journey ahead of me and definitely needed to go before then but what the hell Trailer? Not impressed. jaminaward.wixsite.com
Just, so, happy. The name suits the place well. I hugged a waitress on my way in. It was my first time. We didn’t know each other. They seem to really love their job because I’ve genuinely never seen such happy staff. They were making friends with everyone, and by the end of the evening they seemed to have had some inside jokes.Really great vibe, really great drinks, the food was lovely but lacking a wider variety. It’s a great hidden gem in Notting Hill, you’ll surely miss it during the day time, and will get confused with directions, but it’s right next where it says it is, just look a little harder.A great spot for a group of friends who don’t mind adopting a few others.
This bar is a lot of fun! I’ve been once on a night out with a couple of friends, and I’ve been again to an event where the whole venue was hired out for a work party. Both occasions proved to be complete brilliance with a side of insanity. I put this down to the mad and genius cocktails that they concoct in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and with any number of giant multi-coloured straws. The most famous is probably the giant shared volcano cocktail which appears to have running lava and smoke protruding from it.The only problem with having such fabulous drinks is the resulting carnage- one friend managed to topple down the stairs and break an ankle, another managed to smash a glass table due to some enthusiastic dance moves, and another didn’t turn up to work the next day as they’d been held over night for being harmless yet drunk & disorderly…..As i said- lots of fun to be had here, just watch those cocktails.Drunk, Praise, Love.
Trendy little cocktail bar in the heart of Portobello Road. Great atmosphere and selection of drinks. Recommended!
