From Heathrow I had a Kurdish driver and I asked for Kurdish restaurant. He recommended Azmar. Pleasant and friendly staff. Had the special Azmar kebab which was quite nice. A little different from the Iranian chello kebeb. It came with lentil soup, salad, hummus and a cup of tea and a delicious piece of bakhlava all for 8 quid. Will return.
AWFUL DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE. Was brought starters which had a piece bitten into it and when I addressed it to the waitress, she took it away without explaining anything or apologising like this was very normal. When our main was served, I asked for bread and was waiting for a very long time while the waitress was serving other customers and going up and down the restaurant. Then she was seated near out table which she brought food to, and was eating without a worry or care that the table next to her was waiting for bread! She noticed I was looking at her but carried on eating. The whole staff looked miserable and moody so I was hesitant to ask someone else, then I was left waiting another few minutes for my bread to come. My food got cold in the process and when I addressed it to the manager, he simply did not care and tried to point the fault at us! The waitresses were huddled around us, worried and started defending themselves by lying. The manager said they have regular customers already so our opinions and complaints were chucked out the window. They simply did not care about customer experience and it’s no wonder when there is poor management! Overall it was a disgusting experience and im never coming back!!!!
The beautiful lane in which the restaurant is located has a range of attractive and super fresh healthy ingredients displayed. This was one of the primary reasons for me to be attracted to this place and try this restaurant. This was quite a delightful restaurant. The interiors are pleasant and interesting and suitable for both professional or personal outing. It is generally quite packed which is only a good sign. There is also an option for take away. The menu offers a varied range of items and the portion size is very substantial. The value for money then quite good with the whole lunch bill under 8 pounds.I would recommend trying the lamb shawarma platter which is amazing! The service too is quick and humble. I will definitely go back!
Average for middle east type restaurant, but I found the staff rude, very poor service. I won’t recommend it
This Kurdish restaurant is definitely worth a visit. It is great value for money with its sizeable portions and delicious Kebabs. The staff are not very friendly but they are polite. You get a lentil soup and a plate of Torshi (pickled vegetables) on the house which is nice.I strongly recommend the mixed grill if you go there as a couple as it is amazing value for money. You can see the photograph that I have attached and judge for yourself, all of this for 18!It gets busy at the weekend but it being busy adds to the experience in my opinion. My favourite single dish would be the kofte kebab and my only complain would be the rice which isn’t as good as the rest of the food.I would recommend giving Azmar a go.
