Will dine at this restaurant if I am in London. I am Malaysian and the food served at this restaurant meets my Malaysian taste bud’s expectation. I like their fried kuey teow, soto (this is particularly super tasty) and curry laksa. Cozy place.

Having been to Malaysia, I can say with conviction that this is great food. We had the Mee Goreng; Kari Ayam (Chicken Curry); Beriani and Nasi Goreng with some extra Beriani rice. You won’t be disappointed with this great flavours and good food!

Rasa Sayang Satay House, Paddington not often we feast on Malaysian food in restaurants because of my Malaysian Home Cooking Supperclub. Most of the time I am also occupied with trying out new recipes, dishes and flavours. Tweaking it to perfection before making sure the dish is good enough for my supperclub. But, that is not to say that we don’t eat Malaysian food in restaurants, just hardly ever. I need to keep myself informed. We feasted at Rasa Sayang Satay House restaurant upon the invitation from Contact Singapore. At the gathering, there were about 40, mostly young professionals, working in London in the accountancy and finance sector.Rasa Sayang restaurant is tiny. It is split into two floors. Nothing fancy. Just a simple dining place. Parking a pram in the restaurant space is also quite challenging. The dishes were already decided and I did not have a chance to look at the menu but you can be sure that Malaysian favourite noodle dishes such as the char kuay teow and curry laksa are on the menu.Overall, the food was generally quite good but I would have thought that on this occasion, being a special Malaysian gathering, the dishes would have the extra spice and kick and not the usual flavours as when vatering for the western public. The general agreement amongst the diners were that the ayam masak merah was not a teeny bit spicy and the prawn sambal could have had chilli heat. vi-vian.com

We found a tasty spot for Malaysian food yesterday! Various tastes and spices! As an appetizer, we ordered Satay (6 chicken skewers with peanut sauce) and for our mains we had Kari Ayam (Aromatic chicken curry), Kari Laksa (Spicy egg noodle soup with chicken, tofu, egg, prawns, and vegetables) and my favourite Rendang Daging (Slow cooked beef in coconut milk and spices) !!Definitely recommend this if you like Malaysian!

This place has been around for a long time and for good reason. Whilst it is in no way spectacular, it offers an expansive array of good to very good Malay and Indo-Chinese foods. This is a small restaurant with a plain decor. It is located on a quiet road away from the noise and bedlam of the Edgware Road and Paddington; making it a good place to relax after a long day at work or West-End shopping spree. The service here can be a little slow, primarily because everything is cooked fresh from scratch. This can result in the entire order coming at once and some food getting cold. I can recommend: the Ayam Goreng Berlada (Fried Chicken with Shrimps), Ayam Masak Lemak Chili Api (Chicken in Coconut Gravy), Ayam Percik (Grilled Chicken cooked in Creamy Coconut Milk), Daging Dendeng (Tender Beef Stir-fry), Kari Laksa, Mee Hoon Goreng (Rice & Vermicelli Stir-fry with Beef, Prawns & Veg), Rendang Daging (Beef in Coconut Milk), Roti Canai and the Ais Kacang and Banana Desserts.Asianhawk says: There are not many better Malaysian restaurants in London, definitely give this one a try if you are passing.Halal.

Satay House is about a 10 minute walk from Paddington station. The decor is simple yet elegant. The service was quite slow, but all is forgiven when the food arrived.Highlights:- Chicken Satay (lamb option is also available) juicy morsels of chicken thigh with irresistible char-coal grill marks & smell (yes, I know all about the cancer risks). Served with thick nutty satay sauce, and a side of rice cubes, fresh cucumber and shallots. They aced the test, and I allow them to keep the restaurant name.- Deep-fried tofu stuffed with beansprouts, cucumber strips, and sliced carrots. It looks so boring in the photo here, but tastes incredible. The outside of the tofu is crispy, the vegetables are refreshing, and the sweet sauce just pulls the whole thing together. – Beef Redang one of the best weve had. Chunky pieces of beef slow cooked in loads of spices and coconut cream. Meat is tender and full of flavour. Ten out of a ten, and a steal at 8.50 a plate. Im so going back here for their rendang.- Eggplant stir-fried with fresh chillies and shrimp paste. I LOVE eggplants, and this was done extremely well. Must order if you love eggplants like I do.- Morning glory, stir-fried – beautifully done, very garlicky and very spicy.- Hot mung bean soup oh so sweet and oh so good. Mung beans are cooked down in thick syrupy coconut milk, but what makes it special is the delicious palm sugar smell & flavour. Great dessert. operationgoodfood.wordpress.com
