This is a wonderful little tea shop in a great location overlooking Broomfield Park! I’ve been coming here for years to enjoy the wonderful selection of unique blended teas (my current favourites are Chocolate tea and Rosy Lee), homemade cakes and delicious sandwiches (they do a great bacon sandwich – yum!). They are equally welcoming whether we are there with my 3 year old son (they also have lots of kids events in the back room), working alone on the laptop, or meeting friends for a chat. This is a hidden gem i only tell good friends about (so it doesn’t get too busy). Highly recommended (except saturday mornings when i like to go – please don’t all go then! thanks).
Overpriced and underwhelming! Brie, chutney and bacon panini was abysmally disappointing. Small bits of tasteless bacon overpowered by too much chutney which drowned the taste of the brie out. Served with a side salad covered in a grim shop-bought salad dressing. Not worth 7.50 for that overpriced and underwhelming muck!Cakes could have been nice, but not covered and left to go unpleasantly stale. Teas were expensively priced and didn’t have much ooommpphh!Slow service. Had to ask a couple of times for the menu, to order and for the bill. Staff did not know how to make a cortado and served additional hot water (requested for tea) in a jug, which quickly cooled. Staff could do with being proactive and rather than reactive. Can’t wait for other competitor cafes to open up and serve some decent fare and more reasonable prices.
