Great little pub in Islington. The menu regularly updated as the seasons change but the food is always excellent. As is the beer. This place is great in the summer because of the terrace out the front. Would really recommend the Sunday lunch.
Great pub! The food menu is amazing and changing regularly, depending on seasons. The choice of biers is vast and also changing. You can easily go there often and you’ll always get something new to try! Only downside being that the pub is a bit expensive!
The Crown. Sad.. While visually, a charming, Victorian pub with good food, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Ive been a regular there for over 10 years and sadly, its now pretending to be something its not and is at the stage where if something is not right or you need to make a complaint, you are in the wrong. Instead taking feedback from a regular, (formerly) loyal customer, they will try to argue their way out of it. To prove a point. Even over a slice of bread. No apology, no grace, and one regular customer less. This has happened a few times recently. Perhaps Mary Portas will turn to pubs and come sort them out? Instead of sorting the problem and smoothing things over, you will end us leaving with an even worse experience. Ultimately, it is part of a chain and the mentality born of corporate training reigns. If you dont like it, dont come back. Its a waste of what used to be a great gastro pub but there a lot of other options nearby so unless youre the type never to complain, dont waste your time with The Crown. I wont. Im so done, Fullers need a new word for done.
