Terrible!!!. Very long delivery (2 charge); bad service (they forgot two items which had to be redelivered later); very tiny portions; overpriced; and most importantly the food really wasn’t very good. Extremely disappointed!Will not be buying from them again and would urge others not to make the same mistake!
Really bad and unauthentic food. I’ve been to this place twice now and both experiences have been really bad I had to make a comment. It’s a shame because it’s located in a part of South Ealing where independent restaurants thrive. This lets all of them down.So what was so bad with the experience? Well, I’ll start with the service. The last two times I’ve picked up a take away the owner gives you a barrage of questions which all most seem like the Spanish Inquisition on my order. I guess she’s just trying to be friendly but it goes past the point of small talk and more like the Chinese drive through in ‘Dude, where’s my car’. Once you place your order she tries really hard to sell more. It was really awkward at one point. Service is subjective and everyone would find that either pleasant or annoying, I found it annoying. So what about the food?The food. Where do I start? Both times I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, the latest visit I also order Chicken Satay and Prawn Crackers. I thought would be a safe bet. How wrong I was! The Pad Thai lacked flavour, the chicken was also really tough and really dry. The Chicken Satay did not taste like chicken to start with, the satay flavour used I have never tasted before…ever. I could only describe it as a burnt hickory flavour. Cheap and nasty. The quality of the chicken again was very poor.It’s a shame because out of all the Thai restaurants in Ealing (Fat Boys, Haven Green. Siom, Ealing Broadway) Butlers makes a mockery out of Thai cuisine. If you really fancy a Thai meal, take a few minutes extra walking up the road to Siom on Ealing Broadway. The food there is amazing and reasonable in price. Bulters is just a massive disappointment and a real waste of money.
Not going back. Thought I would give the main Thai players in Ealing a break and venture further into South Ealing to give Butlers a chance. It looks cute and cozy from outside but the one dish I had (massaman) was terrible to the point that I had to throw it away after having 3 spoons of it. I can only hope that this was an exception but I won’t be coming back….the competition in Ealing is far to big for a small restaurant like this to disappoint first time customers.
