I have to agree with the comments below regarding the service. There’s no smile, no hello. I just enter the store, select the bread I want (and I do like their breads), asked for it to be sliced and that’s pretty much it. There seems to be a lack of effort in terms of the service, which you notice quite a lot especially in Richmond, where most of the places I go are really friendly. I keep on coming back for the bread variety though misslillysjourneys.wordpress.com

If you love bread this is, unsurprisingly, the place for you. It has a vast selection of different types, eliciting lots of flavours, textures, and scents. I’ve been in a couple of times, once just to peruse and once to eat. The bakery itself is well presented, and has all the signs of a ‘new’ place (refurbishment?), and it’s easy to sit down to enjoy your food. The Bread Shop also has surprisingly long opening hours – 8AM – 7PM on most days, so if you find that cafes in the area have started closing their doors, this place might be a good bet.

Don’t like supermarket bread, so have been experimenting with some bakeries around where I live. I have been to the Bread shop a couple of times and both times, service has been crap! I thought it was maybe an odd occasion but then happened the second time as well. No hello, no welcoming smiles, no real explanations regarding you particularly want. I really felt the woman behind the counter felt I wasn’t worth being served. I once bought a spelt pretzel which was rubbish and despite it mentioning on the board then that it was buy one get one free, she didn’t give me any saying they didn’t have any more. Well, then maybe you could charge me half or throw anything else for free. But no, I paid full price for something, fool that I was. I bought the protein bread and a rye bread the other time. The protein bread was good, but way overpriced and the rye bread was ordinary. This shop really doesn’t justify its high prices. Neither the products or the service are any good. The only good thing they do is slice your bread. I would recommend the whole foods shop nearby, service is better and the breads are not bad as well!

Can’t judge on the bread but the service was terrible I had just finished the 10km run in deer field park and Was in need of some breakfast. I made my order and Asked if it was to takeaway when I said no eat in, the girl behide the counter looked in shock, I asked If that was a problem and she said yes no freeTables despite there being at least 2 free tables.Clearly my runners face didn t fit among the Yummy work shy mummies
