On my way to Richmond Park I stopped here to have a quicklunch, but it was so nice that I stayed longer, enjoying the sun on the terrace. I had a big plate of bangers and mash, tasty and with a glass of wine…such a lovely lunch!!!
I went for the traditional fish and chips and it was very good, fat food indeed that you can eat drinking a cold Guiness. Queen Elisabeth did the same in 1981, at least it was written in the door. I really enjoyed my time here.
That Lamb and Guinness Pie. It’s been five long years since I darkened the door of the White Cross, but I am still thinking of the amazing lamb and guinness pie I had there. Trying to make the same here at home right now. My friends like the dish when I make it, but I guard the truth: it’s not like it was at the White Cross. Hope to come back for a meal and a sit in 2011.
Has a good sunday roast and perfect for a pint on a summers day over looking the river, or for a steak and kidney pie in the winter. Good pub food.
