La Caretta is a hidden gem serving some amazing South American food in a venue with just thirteen seats. Located on the outside of East Ham market hall – don’t let the location put you off.This family run establishment is charming & authentic. From the home made empanadas, to the delicious fried plantain – La Caretta caters to both vegetarians & carnivores. Due to the fact that the food is made fresh to order, some items from the menu are not always available – but this is compensated for with a daily special.On our visit we tried the fried chorizo & potato which was a huge portion & simply delicious. Combine this with the friendly staff, and delicious South American juices on offer – you are unlikely to find a more authentic South American spot in East London.The menu expands on the weekend (adding seafood casserole and more), as this the restaurants most busy period and as can’t wait to return & try some more of the incredible food on offer.
