This is a good old drinker, one of the original Plumstead ‘Idlers’ – the ‘Star that never shone’ – just at the top of Bird’s Nest Hollow on Plumstead Common Road. And you will find the interior decor hasn’t been ruined by ill-thought through renovations over the years. So plenty of wood panelling, beautiful ceilings and original fixtures. Staff are friendly, the food is cheap and cheerful and there is a jukebox with about a milllion songs on it. Unlike a few pubs in the area the clientele are a pretty good bunch and you don’t get too much rowdy goings on.
