Well today I went to this restaurant and I must say that this is one of the best restaurant in this area. They serve wide variety of non veg dishes And each and every item deserve 5*. At first I was in dilemma whether to visit this outlet or not but my decision to visit this outlet was right. Food at this outlet was really delicious. Looking forward to visit this outlet again.
Browns is our go to place if we want an easy option. It helps that it is located right on our doorstop but the menu just works for out tastes, offering a few standardized options such as fish and chips and a Sunday roast (as an expat I really miss these British classics) but also a few more interesting options like prawn and crab linguine and smoked haddock fish cakes. In the summer months (or when the weather allows) the outside seating area is perfect. We have enjoyed quite a few meals on their patio area. Inside can get a little noisy, especially if there are a few larger groups. The atmosphere is a mix between brasserie and pub as there is a piano in the main restaurant but downstairs seems to be just a bar area for people to congregate around.I like that it pretty much stays open throughout breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner so whenever you are in need of something it is ready to serve. nofixedabodeforsue.com
Great little spot – we popped to the bar for wine and a light bite after seeing a film at the cinema around the corner. The Pinot Grigio was sharp and delicious, and we ordered the truckle of cheese with crackers (very good, lovely cheddar); chips with garlic aioli (very nice, fluffy and crisp) and the chicken ‘lollipops’ (disappointing, cold & fatty). Bar the one off note of the chicken, everything else was great, and I’ll certainly hope to return for a meal in the brasserie when next I’m in the area. countrymouseclaire.com
Probably our favourite restaurant for a casual meal in the area, and there are a lot of restaurants around here. Great ambience and style as it is situated in a rustic brick dockside building. Decor and seating with character, and the pub grub very tasty. Plenty of seating, and always a nice walk getting to and from here!
The boss took our team out to lunch, and we all had the cut price two course lunch menu. I wasn’t terribly impressed by my order, but hey, I had two courses for 12.50.I started with chicken liver parfait, which was a 25 gram serving on a little toast. The parfait was tasty, but the tomato chutney that accompanied it wasn’t sympathetic. It is nice to have a sweet accompaniment, but I do think a tart fruit based sauce such as Cumberland, marries better with pate.My main was the rump steak with fries, ordered rare The meat was a bit sinewy, and not grilled at a high enough temperature, so it looked greyish and lacked caramelization from the Maillard reaction. Chips were okay, but nothing special. I asked for mustard for my chips and that was really good, at least. Fried portobello mushroom and onion rings were greasy. The other garnish of roast tomato was okay.
Reliable food and good service, can’t fault it for a leisurely Saturday lunch
Service could be so much better. We ended up walking out and going somewere else.
