See for yourself. This is probably one of the most conflicting reviews I will ever write……never been here always lived around this area. Have eaten in other places around Bearwood so can safely say this is honest!! Ok ate here about a month ago just to try it out…….we were seat immediately!! (brill eh) at the back of the restaurant in front of the cutlery trays, surrounded by all there cleaning products. All at the edge of my chair. The waiters who were extremely polite and fast working, apologised as they literally worked around my head and the back of me. (I felt like I was in a train station) On the way up to our table it was apparent that the place was ….is quite dirty, food on the floor up to the kitchen etc, under tables a bit like Hansel and Gretel trails. As we sat and looked at each other waiting for the other to say lets leave. We browsed the not so clean menus. The place was packed and everyone appeared to be regular customers, you know when you can sense by the way the staff address the customers and vice versa. There was a good mix of cultures which is usally a good sign. Also more mature customers that look like they’d be picky about where they ate……so we stayed. The chutney tray came-it was filthy with rings of mint yogurt from other users, the mango chutney if you can call it that was and this is no exaggeration! like lumps of phlem mixed with water but not quite mixed. Absolutely vile!Starters came- they were stunning in both taste and appearance. Could have had loads of them instead of a main simply delicious!!Mains-Again really lovely, very very tasty!!!!Naan bread- we ordered peswari naan….like the fact its sweet……not this one it looked lovely honestly really did. It was card boardy, salty and just in edible.I was really expeacting a dodgey tummy from here but was pleasantly suprised not a glimmer of a grumble. I wouldn’t eat here again because of the hygiene factors and if front of house is like this whats the kitchen? You’d have to see for youself…the curries are stunning and the starters. I do wonder if looks of places can be disceiving as beck in may we ate at Red oven up the rd, spotlessly clean…..but the service was obismal!! I was given a tips glass with my birthday cocktail in…..yes it actually had money in glass and the owner tried to say I put the money in there. 8 of ate there that night and everyone complained of the food being salty. service was a joke and so was the food. out of the 2 if I had to go to one or the other it would be Haweli. but please dont serve people chutney trays that have already been used. it gross, you food tastes great and service fast and efficient!!
