Really wanted to love this place, but I’m so disappointed! 🙁 the roast beef was so chewy that we left most of it & I could have honestly smashed a window with the burnt yorkshire puddings. To be fair to them though we complained & they were apologetic & took the deserts off the bill. However, this doesn’t excuse the poor quality of the main courses & it really did ruin a family lunch out, here’s hoping they take the comments on board for future diners. On the plus side the chocolate fudge cake is to die for!! Best one I’ve had in a while! Don’t think we’d return, at least not for a while.
I had the Sunday soup of the moment (tomato and basil) and the roast beef dinner. Absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We asked for extra gravy and carrots and were served both with no questions asked. Will definately be coming again.

We turned up on a busy Saturday night without a booking. Waited for about an hour but did get a table. Food was great, portion sizes were very generous. The service was good until we got to out dessert by which time it was about half ten, we waited a long time for our desserts and were then ignored by the waiting staff as they had started their end of night duties. One girl stood four feet away from us wiping down menus and ingoring our empty plates. We would go back but not for a late supper.
The prices were very reasonable and I enjoyed the food. The malthouse is nice inside and the staff are lovely
Terrible Tuesday. We’ve just left the Malthouse having waited ages to served some burnt, dry food. Feel like we’ve been robbed of 35 and just making some food at home now. I can only assume that I’ve been unlucky as it does seem to get some favourable reviews. Maybe the B team work on Tuesdays
Really good pub food, friendly service – gets really busy weekends so best to book.They do a really good deal…2 steaks and bottle of wine for 20, its really good value and lovely! 🙂
