Called in initially just for drinks before moving on for food, the atmosphere and menu were so inviting we stayed. I had the fish and to steal a line from Jaws, you better bring a bigger belly (boat) my wife had the one cheek both were cooked well and certainly were hearty. The drinks were competitively priced, but credit where its due the staff are brilliant from the chef who obviously cooks well, to demi our waitress who whilst being friendly and attentive made us feel as if we’d known her for years. She was also busy clearing tables and glasses etc as well as looking after her tables. Top class. Even the bar staff need a mention as they know how not to ruin a single malt with just a splash of water. All in all a top class pub kitchen, that doesn’t deserve the name pub kitchen. We’ll definitely be back again in the future.

Beautiful decor, warm and inviting just a pity about the food. The eggs Benedict has some liquid floating in the plate I assume that was the hollandaise. The pancakes with bacon was ice cold and two of the pancakes was black and two was under cooked! Plus side the hot chocolate was really tasty

Bad awful poor pub food. Went in December, staff really awful don’t understand customer service and make stupid requests whilst dinning, to a few tables spoiling meal, which is very over priced, really go the local chip shop or wine lodge food would be much better and at a better price, this is just a cramped poor pub pretending to be something it isn’t, never going back suggest you never go.

Went for lunch on a Saturday, good meal cheap ( for Liverpool ). Friendly ambience.Just to add that I’ve not been back in a while, it may have changed like restaurants do.
