I had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time, but being vegetarian, wasn’t sure of the options, Was pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options. Ordered a veg mezze platter which came with freshly baked bread. Liked the aubergine, falafel and humus. Found the yogurt based mezze a bit sour for my taste. The quantity was quite a lot and more than sufficient for light eaters. ALso tried the baklava which was mouth watering tasty 🙂

Great decor. Customer service needs improvement. Their platters are really worth the price, their lamb chops are beautifully cooked, very tender and juicy, boneless chicken pieces are very succulent. However, the donner in general from any Efes branch is very bland and dry, definitely not worth the price (almost 10). Their bread is good, comes with a lovely choice of condiments. Their freshly squeezed orange juice is really good, but again very overpriced. Had bad days and good days at this restaurant therefore only a 3/5.

Definitely one of the best turkish restaurants in London. Went with a large group of friends and we ordered basically everything on the menu and everything was tasty. Highly recommended for fine Turkish dinning.

We had the Christmas office party here. Great that you can BYO wine. Because we were a large group the organizers just ordered a bunch of sharing platters which I didn’t find uniformly good. There was complimentary bread, salad and sauces on the table when we sat down. Turkish bread was fine but not great, not particularly pillowy nor warmed over charcoal. The chilli sauce was excellent but the other creamy sauce was disappointingly yogurt based instead of a Levantine toum sauce. The salad was a notch above most salads served in middle eastern grill joints. It was dressed with some vinaigrette and contained shredded red cabbage, shredded onion, chopped tomato and lettuce as well as lemon wedges. So far so good.Grilled halloumi was very good. Dressed with some rocket and tomato. It did need the chilli sauce as it was otherwise a little dry.Sharing platters of mixed mezze were next to arrive. The saksuka on it was excellent but most of the other elements (hummous, cacik, patlican ezme) were just okay whereas the Russian salad was yuck. Finally we got the charcoal grilled meat sharing platters designated as Efes 1 on the menu. The meat on the bone, particularly lamb ribs and chicken wings were very nice. Lamb chops were okay too. Everything off the bone (lamb and chicken shish, lamb and chicken doner) was tough and overcooked. The grilled veg (turkish peppers and tomatoes) were okay. Rather a lot of cous cous and rice for bulking up the platters.I wasn’t particularly impressed with Efes, but I am sure one could eat well here if you order more carefully. It is quite inexpensive and allows BYO. I prefer Mangal1 up in Dalston for BYO Turkish grill in East London.

We went as a group to Efes based on a friend’s recommendation when looking for a decent, but cheap restaurant. This was a nice, clean space with professional staff and courteous service. I tried the mixed shish and the ali nazik, which had large, tender pieces of meat. The meal came with a starter salad, bread and dips. Then we were offered complimentary tea after we hung around too long. We all had trouble finishing our food because the portions were generous. The meals were priced very well and it was a flavourful and enjoyable experience.

I went to efes on commercial road, right before the rush. The decor was nice and simple and the mood was very calming. The waiters were very nice, quick to seat us down and serve us with complimentary bread a salsa type dip and yoghurt. We ordered the efes sharing platter (reallllly large) for two with all sorts of meats, rice and vegetables. I will say I have never been more impressed, the service was quick the food looked good and all the elements of the meal were great. The meats were spiced and cooked perfectly and the rice very flavourful; and there was a lot of it too. ( so much so enough to take away). The price was very reasonable for what you get, il call it value for money indeed. I will definitely recommend and plan to revisit.

Nice Turkish, nothing outstanding, portions were smaller than others, very cramped space, but watching the bread being baked is cool, we had a good time.
