Great Food & Character. Been to this restaurant twice now and enjoyed myself both times.Whilst I’d advise you to try and get a table rather than a booth (especially if your middles is as large as mine ;)) and to order rice over naans (which seem to take longer to arrive) everthing else about the place is top notch. The bill can be on the larger side, but then the adage that you get what you pay for is fulfilled with great food for your money (say ~ 20 per person, with the difference between a 12 bargain and a 25 head scratcher usually being the drinks).Don’t expect anything ‘classy’, but do expect great, tasty food (especially surprisingly tasty vegetable dishes), friendly waiters and an owner brimming with personality who certainly makes the restaurant her own.
Somehow this place is regarded as one of Sheffields finest restaurants. The restauranter is pushy and impersonal; continually trying to second guess what you would like. Instead of just leaving you to peruse the menu they incessantly try and push the specials. After all the hype the food turns out to be average to poor but yet the bill exceedingly high. I’d seriously give it a miss.

One of the better Indian restaurants in town, Nirmals has been going for many years. The standard North Indian dishes are always a cut above but the more unusual regional offerings are the real stars! Depending on the size of your party, the cheque will run to a little more than you expected, but it is always worth it, the highlight being the owner herself, ever the jovial hostess, moving constantly between tables, recommending dishes and always making for an entertaining evening.
