Upon opening many moons ago in Stoke, Planet Bollywood was causing a great deal of excitement, with locals hoping it would outdo the strong competition from other curry houses and takeaways in the centre of Stoke. Upon entering the restaurant, there’s a whole lotta love in the way of ambience, cheery service and food.Its a little bit dearer than most but, from experience, its a price worth paying for the extra quality. The Chicken Tikka Masala – like the old, classic Al Shafiq’s – comes with the red rather than orange sauce (meaning more tomato based), and is much nicer for it, with the usual fantastic chicken. The chutney tray for poppadoms also contains a nice red sauce, so the colour red is a striking memory where Planet Bollywood is concerned.They offer a 10% discount for curry collection and low calorie options on certain dishes (upon request). Certainly one of those dishes (and places) to come back again and again too… recommended.
