This is a review of the new branch on Hoxton Square. Chilled atmosphere, nice decor (don’t miss the cute wallpaper in the toilets), friendly service. Food was a disappointment though.I ordered wings from the starters section menu and the skin was flabby and not rendered to a crisp, although the honey mustard sauce was tasty. The rest of our table of four ordered rotisserie chicken. People who got the leg quarters were happy with their chicken which was falling off the bone. One person got a breast piece and complained that her chicken was dry and overcooked. I would definitely recommend asking for a leg joint here. The accompanying chicken gravy was insipid. Of the additional sauces we ordered (mustard, green and truffle mayo) the homemade mayo was best. The green sauce had a spicy and minty kick.We ordered a bunch of salads to share. They were all served far too cold straight from the fridge, probably prepared in advance. The cherry tomato and buratta was the most pleasant of the bunch, as it had a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. The broccoli, bean and mushroom salad was unpleasantly hard as vegetables had not been blanched. Lemony vinaigrette was also too acidic for my taste. The salads containing quinoa and barley, respectively, were almost all starch, with very little of the vegetables touted in the menu.We shared a few sides. Roast new potato looked unattractive having been taken to an aggressively deep brown colour but tasted very nice. Roast root vegetables materialized as a serving of tough under cooked sweet potato. Mac and cheese was quite greasy with butter but short of cheese flavour except for the crusty topping.
