Coffee. It’s a such a big thing these days. A movement in itself, with no end of coffee places opening for the trendy types to fully embrace coffeeism. The latest to pop in good ole Shoreditch is Paper & Cup. Tucked away on a side street, off the High, you have a small little space to drink a cup and read a book. It is a straightforward places with no big surprises, hot drinks, cold drinks, pastries and books. No point going to the website to get an insight as its the weirdest little online tool I have ever seen. Why oh why do folk have to try so hard to be out there. I guess its because buy into it. Paper & Cup is ok if you waiting for someone and need something quick to past the time. Not sure if it really is worth anything else beyond being just right for the local trendies. cookandpour.co.uk
It’s very cute. And small. And cute. And not much else. My latte isn’t that great, and rather towards the bitter side, and the staff and the cakes look rather tired. Also it is incredibly quiet. I’m not sure if they are going for a peaceful and calm atmosphere, but instead it just comes across as rather eery. Even though they have an hour before close, it feels as if they have turned off the music in the hope people will leave. I’m rather relieved when someone orders a cappuccino so the coffee machine can make some noise!
