Supposedly refurbished, but still looks grimey. Didn’t need to wait too long to get a table, but it took a while to have our orders taken. My mum ordered the lamb burger well done, when it arrived, it was rare. I had the lamb for Syria burger which tasted a bit like a kebab. Not a great experience.
I am quite picky with my burgers, have been trying them around London to find one I like best.Loved the burger here- very moist, medium-rare to well done, perfect brioche bread. Not sure about the chips- didn’t feel like they were anything special, too salty
I love you Patty & Bun. I mean i really do. First time I discovered you off St Christopher’s Place in central London, I literally knew there was a connection. Then on a drunken cab ride home from Mayfair, I stopped on James Street to pick you up on the go. It was casual but you blew my mind. When I stopped venturing in to that part of town, I missed you. I followed you on social media, compared you to every other burger I met and frankly, they came up short. I was gutted that this deep relationship could not continue. Then you popped up near Liverpool Street, just down the road from me. I was elated and tried to get in but it didn’t work. You were popular, everyone wanted you. I stood across the road and watched as others took my place ravishing your meat. It was heart breaking. This year I was at a concert at Hyde Park and there you were, you were all coy, like it didn’t mean a thing. I went up and ordered my Ari Gold. It felt natural and the romance was renewed. As if you felt my heart beating hard and the euphoria of my passions rise again, you claimed Redchurch Street as your new home, to be even closer to me. I popped over on a Friday to the most pleasant surprise, you had grown. No longer was it just about the amazing burgers; you had this great beer on tap, cheese balls on the menu and a delightful team knocking out the most amazing tunes. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if we could continue where we left off, but it was like a dance rehearsed a thousand times, we knew the steps and it played out without effort. That evening, I did not have a burger, I decided to experiment. I was happy to be in your warm crevice again. Better still, my pals got to see just how amazing you are too. I will be back Patty & Bun on Redchurch Street, as I am craving the best burger in London. cookandpour.co.uk
