Are you sick of your library and looking for that quirky cafe with wifi and a laid back atmosphere where you can sit for hours and just work on your laptop, while constantly having your coffee topped up? Look no further. The coffee definitely beats your library coffee, or coffee that you might find at the standard chains you grab your morning coffee from. And the cafe has a different set up, with large old sofas for you to laze on, and three small interconnected rooms.

By Esin HuseyinOkay, so most of the places Ive been visiting lately have been coffee shops & cafes. But, these last couple of weeks my life has been a bit go go go, so Ive been on the move a lot lately.I popped in to this place on a whim, I hadnt seen it before not that I hit up Shoreditch that often, although I really should. This place was actually super busy and whilst we were in there, even more people flooded in. The coffee shop was themed, obviously, around a station. There were signs and pictures that hinted to this. But, then there was a large chandelier light fixture, and even plants hanging from the ceiling those arty light bulbs, again. Even though it may not fit in with the theme, it actually worked it created a relaxed feel and filled the space well.As soon as you walk in to the first room, its filled with standard sized tables and chairs. Then you walk through to the second room which is slightly cosier with sofas and a large table with upholstered benches. But, there was also a third room which I believe seemed like a pop up retail space, this time round they were producing T-Shirts. Honestly, I didnt have a nosey at the retail space, and it was purely because I cosied up with my tea and got lost in the moment..Itll be worthwhile to mention, that only as I was leaving did I spy on the windows and a chalkboard on the pavement, that this place turns in to a wine and whiskey bar in the evening how bluddy cool! A lot of my friends have even attended art exhibitions here; even before Ive described to you what I ate and drink, its pretty clear to see that this coffee house is fast becoming an integral part of the area, and clearly utilises its space intelligently. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.I ordered my typical order of an Earl Grey accompanied with a plain croissant one thing to note is, that towards the evening they literally have nothing left. I had to split the croissant between two people, as they didnt have any more; in some ways thats a great thing because the food isnt wasted, and therefore itll always be fresh. But, on the other hand, I was craving another pastry delightThe tea was just a tea bag, so it wasnt exactly the most exciting thing to write about. For me, this place is purely about the environment. If youre after a grounded and relaxed environment, with huge windows that allow the light and scenes of the street to flood in this is your place. Curl up and watch life flitter by.If you want to see our other non-food related reviews and features please visit our site. maybeldner.com

An interesting and exquisite place to go, with three rooms to suit whatever mood youre in. One room to socialize, one to dance and one to relax. The staff has a way with drinks that will make you come back for more. If youve never been I definitely suggest you go if not for the drinks but for the incredible ambiance that this place emits. A true gem.

Fun and lovely bar by night, great coffee by day!On a Saturday night the bar is packed with people and it’s a little hard to move around. They play really great music though and it has a fun and lively atmosphere. The bar staff are really nice and not at all flustered by how busy it was. The bar extends out into the cafe in the next room which adds some seating and also some room to dance which is great. In the day it reverts back to a causal, relaxing cafe and they do some pretty good coffee!

It doesn’t take a genius to figure that name out but knowing a bit of the area’s history wouldn’t hurt. The Old Shoreditch Station is a coffee shop/bar situated at the very spot where the original Shoreditch railway station used to be. Coincidence? I think not.Anyway, this is yet another cafe/bar under the Jaguar Shoes Collective and lives up to its name. Divided into a coffee shop, a tea room and a shop selling t-shirts, mugs and other miscellaneous stuff, it’s a hot spot for a sip of coffee. Nothing fancy and a little cramped at times, it sticks with the Shoreditch theme of worn out tables and seating. But again, I’d like to see a little polish. Evenings see a complete turnaround of the place with candles, flowing drinks and a lot of noise. couchcibo.wordpress.com
